Testimonials

"We approached Philip with a planning question on a small project we were considering.  He answered very quickly and we asked further questions to which he gave detailed answers.  The result was that we abandoned our idea as being unlikely to be approved by the Council planners.  For his expertise and trouble he wanted no fee as he said he provides ‘15 minutes free advice to potential customers’.  His service was most valuable to us, it led to no new business for him and yet he refused payment when offered.  This says a great deal about his practice standards." -- Hugh & Val Daglish (2020)

"It is a pleasure to work with Philip Barton.  When we found ourselves in a seemingly endless quagmire of bureaucracy, he calmly and assertively guided us to higher ground with crystal clear advice, based on his extensive professional experience and knowledge.  More importantly for us, he is one of those rare breed of Planners...a creative thinker...who has proven willing to challenge convention and help us explore some of the new opportunities that the Localism Act offers in support of a community-led plan.  It is also his ability to make sense of complex problems and communicate both problem and solution to us in plain English that has been so valuable to us as a community forum.  Finally, his work is always timely and responsiveness excellent." -- Mark Howard & Chris Moore CBE, Hoylake Community Planning Forum (2015)

"I am beyond happy with the way you have presented my case" -- Neil Simon, Wallasey (2015)

"Last night [12 June 2013] we won a RIBA Regional Award for our house in West Lancashire and I want to thank you so much for having faith in us.  Your involvement was crucial to securing planning permission and has made such a great difference to our lives." -- Carol Young, BYA Ltd (2013)

"Philip Barton delivered...an excellent, well structured and reasoned letter of objection..." -- Tony Molloy, Grenfell Residents' Group, Parkgate, Cheshire (2013)

"Thank you so very very much for helping our Residents Association in Blacon fight the development (student village) on Chester's northern green belt." -- Yvonne Jones & Ruth Shaw, North Blacon Residents' Association (2013)

"I am overwhelmed with my deepest gratitude, for the excellent way you have presented my case." -- Mrs Metcalfe, Isle of Wight (2012)

"...the work was outstanding, with the end result that [the Council's] proposals were withdrawn...I would not hesitate to recommend Philip Barton in his professional capacity to anybody wishing work to be carried out to the highest standard." -- Peter Crawford, Bidston Preservation Trust (2004)
